Kineon manufactures and sells consumer medical equipment direct to consumers. Their flagship product is the 'The Move+', a light therapy device.

Kineon was keen to try out 3D photos in a bid to increase engagement and remove doubt about the product they sell.

The AB Test

Over the course of 3 weeks, traffic to Kineon's flagship product was directed to 3 different pages:

Control: No changes to the original page;

Variable A: Our 3D photo as the first image in the Carousel;

Variable B; Our 3D photo as the 2nd image in the carousel.

The site had 9,457 unique visitors distributed evenly across all the pages..

The results

The page with our 3D photo as the hero image (variable A) contributed to a 29.4% increase in conversions and 27.95% increase in revenue.

Adding a 3D image of the MOVE+ device product as the hero image on the page captured visitor attention, enhanced product understanding, reduced purchase anxiety, resulting in increased conversion rates.

Notably, there was no increase in bounce rate, validating that our 3D photo did not negatively impace page performance.

Key Insights

Placement is key!

Variation A (image 1 on the PDP) delivered the highest uplift with a 29.41%. If customers arrive from google ads, they will not see your catalogue or homepage. Captureing their attention is crucial!

Mobile Performance:

On mobile devices, CVR soared by 54%, with RPV surpassing $10. Visitors spent more time exploring the product due to the touch-friendly nature of the 3D image.

Engagement & Trust:

Interactive visuals helped customers understand the product’s features, reducing bounce rates and improving confidence.
